ESE-konsernin uusi toimitusjohtaja on Janne Saarela

ESE-Energia Oy:n uudeksi toimitusjohtajaksi on nimitetty Janne Saarela, 37-vuotias tuotantotalouden diplomi-insinööri, 1.5.2025 alkaen.

Saarela siirtyy tehtävään Kotkan Energia Oy:n energiajohtajan sekä KotkaGas Oy:n toimitusjohtajan tehtävistä. Saarelalla on vahva kokemus energian tuotannosta sekä kaukolämpö- ja energialiiketoiminnan johtamisesta. Hänen kokemuksensa muutosjohtajuudesta sekä strateginen näkemys yhtiön tulevasta suunnasta ovat olleet keskeisiä tekijöitä valinnassa.

Meneillään oleva energiamurros haastaa energia-alaa, mutta luo samalla myös valtavasti uusia mahdollisuuksia. ESE on jo erittäin hyvällä tiellä kohti uutta energia-aikakautta.”, sanoo Saarela.

ESE-Energia Oy:n hallitus haluaa kiittää nykyistä toimitusjohtajaa Erkki Karppasta hänen panoksestaan ja sitoutumisestaan yhtiöön. Hänen johdollaan on muutettu ESEn organisaatiokulttuuria ja kehitetty liiketoimintaa, johon merkittävänä osana ovat kuuluneet investoinnit Pursialan voimalaitokseen, kuten kaukolämpöakku ja sähkökattilan rakentaminen, jotka ovat luoneet pohjaa ESEn tuloksentekokyvylle. Lisäksi yhtiö on mm. irtautunut oikea-aikaisesti Fennovoimasta sekä Venäjä-toiminnoista. Karppanen on ollut pidetty johtaja henkilöstön keskuudessa.

Janne Saarela, a 37-year-old Master of Science in Industrial Enginering and Management, has been appointed as the new CEO of ESE-Energia Oy as of 1 May 2025.

Saarela joins from the positions of Energy Director of Kotkan Energia Oy and CEO of KotkaGas Oy. Saarela has strong experience in energy production, district heating and energy business management. His experience in change leadership and his strategic vision for the future direction of the company have been key factors in the selection.

The Board of Directors of ESE-Energia Oy would like to thank the current CEO Erkki Karppanen for his contribution and commitment to the company. Under his leadership, ESE has changed its organisational culture and developed its business, a significant part of which has been the investments in the Pursiala power plant, such as the district heating battery and the construction of the electrode boiler, which have laid the foundation for ESE's performance. In addition, the company has made a timely exits from Fennovoima and its Russian operations. Mr Karppanen has been a well-liked leader among staff.
